Daniel Spencer Residential Surveyors are a RICS-regulated residential surveying firm based in Derbyshire. We specialise in RICS Level 2 Survey Reports and RICS Property Valuations.
We provide our services throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, East Staffordshire and South Yorkshire.

Meet the Team
Daniel Spencer

Daniel Spencer

Daniel has over 20 years of experience within the property industry and has been a RICS-qualified Surveyor since 2019.

His career began working within his father's insulation business, where he gained valuable hands-on experience installing cavity wall and loft insulation, as well as carrying out pre-installation surveys. This early exposure provided a strong understanding of property construction and the practical aspects of building performance.

Daniel later moved into the construction sector, working on residential housing developments and gaining further insight into the building process from the ground up. He then transitioned into estate agency, where he was responsible for inspecting and valuing properties while supporting clients throughout the buying and selling process, developing a strong understanding of both property and customer needs.

After qualifying as a RICS Surveyor, Daniel gained extensive experience working for a major corporate surveying firm, carrying out mortgage valuations and Level 2 surveys for leading mortgage lenders and private clients. Working within a fast-paced environment and managing a high volume of instructions allowed him to build a wealth of industry knowledge and experience across a wide range of property types and client requirements.

Building on this strong foundation, Daniel established DSRS with the aim of delivering a more personal and client-focused service, combining professional expertise with an approachable and tailored approach.

Sarah Taylor

Sarah Taylor

Sarah oversees the administrative side of the business, helping to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Her background includes a degree in Psychology, qualification as a teacher and experience working within education. She has also worked in a fast-paced airport environment as a Personal Assistant (PA) and, more recently, has spent the last few years running her own business while also caring for hers and Daniel's three sons.

These varied roles have developed strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, alongside a caring and people-focused approach, allowing her to provide a friendly and supportive experience for every customer.
